Just as Democrats are allergic to the truth, I’m allergic to stupidity. Which is why I missed this epic takedown provided by John Sununu during an interview on CNN. This video – at bottom of page – comes to you courtesy of The Conservative Treehouse. Folks over there apparently have a higher pain threshold than do I. Give their site a look-see. Always thought-provoking.
Sununu utterly destroys CNN’s Alisyn Camerota’s attempts at maintaining the Russian Narrative. Note that Sununu was highly critical of Trump during the campaign – which is perhaps why CNN put him on. The interview did not go as they expected…
A couple of varied quotes to give you a taste:
Sununu: “You guys have made back-channel a derogatory term. Back-channel is a positive asset. Nixon could not have done China without a back-channel.”
Sununu: “The only discomfort I have is with folks in the media trying to create a veniality without having the courage to specifically tell me what the veniality that I should be concerned about is.”
Sununu: “I don’t see any evidence of collusion, do you?”
Camerota: No.
Sununu: “That should end your reporting right there.”
Sununu: “If Mueller comes out and says that my version is correct and yours isn’t, how much crow are you going to eat?”
Camerota: “Governor, I don’t have a version.”
Sununu: “Of course you do. The whole half-hour I listened to is a version.”
Epic!!
Note also the important moment starting at 4:25 where Sununu throws Obama’s Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper, back under the bus that Clapper had so desperately been crawling away from during his Congressional testimony. Clapper, Brennan and Comey all have some serious explaining to do.
Apparently, the only white hat in our Intelligence Community was worn by Mike Rodgers at NSA. Which is why he is still there.
I do wish Sununu had taken the time to directly point out the obvious. If Kushner was setting up a back-channel with the Russians, that obviously meant there was no prior collusion with the Russians. If there had been, there would be no need for Kushner to set a back-channel up in the first place.
I’m honestly surprised that this interview wasn’t cut short by one of CNN’s many “technical difficulties” that so often plague conservative appearances on the network…
Well done Governor! And a nice closing statement as well.
Give a watch – even if you’ve already seen it. It gets better with each viewing.
