Democrats, in a collective attempt at self-immolation, have decided to pursue the National Anthem Protest narrative through a prism of Racism and White Supremacy.
This is mind-numbingly dumb.
Liberals and Progressives are showing the entire nation – in simple, concrete terms – how culturally disconnected the Democratic Party has become from the rest of the country.
And they’re doing it as often as 16 times a week.
This is a battle they simply cannot win.
The Remington Research Group conducted a national public opinion survey regarding the National Anthem Protests. The survey was conducted September 25th, 2017 and included 1,633 participants. The Survey was conducted after President Trump declared war on the NFL.
Most Americans, 51%, say they have watched less football this year compared to the past. Of respondents who said they have watched less football this year, 69% cite their reason as players using the NFL as a stage for their political views.
Republicans and Non-Partisans have been cutting back on watching football at a higher rate than Democrats, as 66% of Republicans say they have watched less football this year compared to 33% of Democrats. Among Non-Partisans, 55% reported they have watched less football this year compared to the past.
Almost two-thirds of Americans, 64%, state that NFL players should stand and be respectful during the national anthem while 24% of Americans do not believe players should stand and be respectful during the national anthem.
By party affiliation, 91% of Republicans, 60% of Non-Partisans and 43% of Democrats believe players should stand and be respectful during the national anthem. Among Democrats, 41% do not believe players should stand and be respectful during the national anthem.
Concerning news for the NFL is that 50% of Americans claim they are less likely to watch their favorite team due to the protests during the national anthem. Furthermore, 60% of Americans believe players should find a more appropriate place to protest.
Democrats and the NFL should both take note. They’re going to lose badly in the face of numbers like these.
In a display of editorial genius, the Huffington Post ran an article titled, White Athletes Still Standing For The Anthem Are Standing For White Supremacy. Some tidbits of wisdom from the article:
For white athletes the anthem and American flag do represent freedom, liberty and whatever other amorphous American values one might ascribe these symbols. So, from their view, kneeling would be disrespectful to the privileges a white supremacist nation affords them.
If white athletes can’t fathom kneeling because they feel soldiers fought for their rights and blah blah blah patriotism, it’s because they are treated as full citizens and afforded those rights they imagine soldiers fought for.
White supremacy — as in the structures of opportunity, the legacy of/ongoing oppression of non-whites, and the asymmetrical hoarding of resources by whites — is what affords us the privileges that limit our view.
So let’s at least be clear that what those players stood for on Sunday was white supremacy. Full stop.
My take.
Progressives are attempting to label all conservatives as white supremacists.
Portraying half the country as racist is a failing strategy.
Full stop.
Consider this attempt by Ryan Lizza of the New Yorker and CNN:
What about McCain, Cuomo, McConnell, Ryan, Paul, etc?
This is just beyond stupid,— Jeff Carlson, CFA (@themarketswork) September 23, 2017
Chris Cillizza at CNN had this to say:
It’s impossible to conclude now Trump is doing anything other than purposely playing with racial animushttps://t.co/8cxiM2wemd

Watching these false “narratives” being pushed – over and over – can be infuriating.
I hope they keep it up.
It’s going to cost the Democrats dearly in 2018 and 2020.
My response to Jesse Benn, the author of White Athletes Still Standing For The Anthem Are Standing For White Supremacy.
We conservatives thank you for all your hard work. Please keep it up for 3 & 1/2 more years.#WhytheLeftLost

Speaking of false narratives, the Washington Post ran a story yesterday claiming that:
Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton implored President Trump and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis to help the people of Puerto Rico. Send the Navy, she tweeted, especially the hospital ship USNS Comfort. Two days later, Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Brock Long announced that the Navy will soon do exactly that.
There’s just one problem.
The entire story is wrong.
The USNS Comfort was ordered 3 days before Clinton’s tweet.
You know it takes 5 days to “activate” USNS Comfort right?
(Fuel, food, supplies, personnel)
It was ordered 3 days prior to Clinton tweet. https://t.co/yEz5oSFzHa— TheLastRefuge (@TheLastRefuge2) September 27, 2017
She couldn’t be sent until ports would be open upon arrival.
Because there was no PR port to receive her. She’s 900′ x 100′ and over 69K tons. She’s a 1970’s modified oil tanker (hull). Good Grief.

President Trump had previously ordered massive support efforts – which were already in place.
DoD positioned 5 ships to PR that could operate w/out harbors. USNS Comfort is an “old model” oil tanker with massive dockage limits/needs.

This.
You couldn’t be more full of crap if you tried . We have a hospital ship there already plus 10k personnel. pic.twitter.com/DaGBh7GiyZ

Democrats continue to push False Narratives and pander to the Far Left.
They will also continue to lose.
