There really was a Russian Conspiracy.
But it doesn’t involve President Trump.
It involves Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation and the Obama Administration.
Yesterday I wrote about new revelations surrounding Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation and the Uranium One deal. I noted that further details would be forthcoming.
Three new articles have since emerged.
A video interview with the article authors – John Solomon at The Hill and Sara Carter at Circa News – is at the end of this post.
John Solomon at the Hill was the one who broke the original story yesterday. Today he published a new article, FBI informant blocked from telling Congress about Russia nuclear corruption case, lawyer says.
An American businessman who worked for years undercover as an FBI confidential witness was blocked by the Obama Justice Department from telling Congress about conversations and transactions he witnessed related to the Russian nuclear industry’s efforts to win favor with Bill and Hillary Clinton and influence Obama administration decisions.
Attorney Victoria Toensing, a former Reagan Justice Department official and former chief counsel of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said Tuesday she is working with members of Congress to see if they can get the Trump Justice Department or the FBI to free her client to talk to lawmakers.
Toensing said she also possesses memos that recount how the Justice Department last year threatened her client when he attempted to file a lawsuit that could have drawn attention to the Russian corruption during the 2016 presidential race as well as helped him recover some of the money Russians stole from him through kickbacks during the FBI probe.
When he tried to bring some of the allegations to light in the lawsuit last year, “the Obama Justice Department threatened him with loss of freedom. They said they would bring a criminal case against him for violating an NDA,” she added.
Toensing added her client has had contact from multiple congressional committees seeking information about what he witnessed inside the Russian nuclear industry and has been unable to provide that information because of the NDA.
The information the client possesses includes specific allegations that Russian executives made to him about how they facilitated the Obama administration’s 2010 approval of the Uranium One deal and sent millions of dollars in Russian nuclear funds to the U.S. to an entity assisting Bill Clinton‘s foundation. At the time, Hillary Clinton was serving as secretary of State on the government panel that approved the deal.
Toensing said her client can also testify that FBI agents made comments to him suggesting political pressure was exerted during the Justice Department probe of the Russia corruption case and that there was specific evidence that could have scuttled approval of the Uranium One deal if it became public.
“There was corruption going on and it was never brought forward. And in fact, the sale of the uranium went on despite the government knowing about all of this corruption.”
The level of corruption and collusion between the Clintons and the Obama Administration never ceases to amaze…
Sara Carter at Circa News came out with an extensive article on the situation, A Russian nuclear firm under FBI investigation was allowed to purchase US uranium supply.
Fifteen months before the 13 members of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, known as CFIUS, approved the sale of the Canadian company Uranium One to Russia’s nuclear arm giant Rosatom, the FBI began investigating persons who were connected to the Russian state corporation. The FBI said in court documents and in interviews conducted by Circa that by 2010 they had gathered enough evidence to prove that Rosatom-connected officials were engaged in a global bribery schedule that included kickbacks and money laundering. FBI officials said the investigation could have prevented the sale of Uranium One, which controlled 20 percent of U.S. uranium supply under U.S. law.
The deal which required approval by CFIUS, an inter-agency committee who reviews transactions that leads to a change of control of a U.S. business to a foreign person or entity that may have an impact on the national security of the United States. At the time of the Uranium One deal the panel was chaired by then-Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and included then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and then-Attorney General Eric Holder.
The Justice Department didn’t move forward an indictment with prosecution of bribery by people tied to Rosatom, through subsidies and other entities, until 2014 after CFIUS approved the sale of Uranium One, leaving the American public without knowledge of the Russian company’s allegedly illegal actives as it went to procure one-fifth of U.S. uranium supply.
In August 2015, Mikerin pled guilty to money laundering conspiracy involving violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, according to a Department of Justice press release. By the end of 2015, four defendants were indicted in the years long investigation.
The case being built against Mikerin in 2010 was under the supervision of Maryland U.S. Attorney Rod Rosenstein, then an Obama appointee who now serves as President Trump’s deputy attorney general. According to court documents, the case was also handled by then Assistant FBI Director Andrew McCabe, who is currently the deputy FBI director under Trump.
Robert Mueller was the head of the FBI at the time of the investigation.
Mueller was recently appointed as Special Counsel to investigate any ties between President Trump and Russian officials. Mueller was appointed by…Rod Rosenstein.
Andrew McCabe is currently under investigation related to Conflict of Interest charges in the Clinton Email Investigation.
Virginia Governor and longtime Clinton confidant Terry McAuliffe donated $467,500 to the 2015 Senate campaign of Dr. Jill McCabe. The Virginia Democratic Party (more or less controlled by McAuliffe) donated an additional $207,788 for a grand total of $675,288. This equated to more than a third of Dr. McCabe’s campaign funds.
Mr. McAuliffe met with the McCabe’s on March 7, 2015 – the purpose of the meeting was to convince Dr. McCabe to run for office – her first run at any public office.
Mrs. Clinton’s private server was uncovered by the New York Times on March 2, 2015 – five days before Mr. McAuliffe’s first meeting with the McCabe’s.
At the time of McAuliffe’s first meeting with the McCabe’s, Andrew McCabe was running the FBI’s Washington, D.C. field office. It was Mr. McCabe’s office that provided personnel and resources to the Clinton email investigation.
The Swamp runs deep…
Finally some good news from another article by John Solomon at the Hill, Senate Judiciary opens probe into Obama-era Russian nuclear bribery case.
The Senate Judiciary Committee has launched a probe into a Russian nuclear bribery case, demanding several federal agencies disclose whether they knew the FBI had uncovered the corruption before the Obama administration in 2010 approved a controversial uranium deal with Moscow.
“According to government documents and recent news reports, the Justice Department had an ongoing criminal investigation for bribery, extortion, money laundering, into officials for a Russian company making purchase of Uranium One,” Grassley said. “That purchase was approved during previous administration and resulted in Russians owning 20 percent of America’s uranium mining capacity.
Senate Judiciary aides said the committee had sent requests for information to 10 federal agencies involved in the Russian uranium approvals.
The committee is discussing other bipartisan requests to make in the coming days, and Grassley also is expected to seek access to potential witnesses soon, escalating from the information requests he made a few years back, according to people familiar with the investigation.
The senator also specifically conveyed in recent letters he no longer accepts the Obama administration’s assurances from 2015 that there was no basis to block the Uranium One deal.
“I am not convinced by these assurances,” Grassley wrote the Homeland Security Department last week. “The sale of Uranium One resulted in a Russian government takeover of a significant portion of U.S. uranium mining capacity. In light of that fact, very serious questions remain about the basis for the finding that this transaction did not threaten to impair U.S. national security.”
You can find the ten letters sent by Senator Chuck Grassley here.
In each letter, Grassley asks a series of similar questions, tailored slightly depending to whom the letter is addressed. Here are the questions submitted to Attorney General Jeff Sessions:
1. According to the Treasury Department, CFIUS gathers on a weekly basis to discuss pending transactions. Please list the date of each meeting that involved a discussion of the Uranium One/Rosatom transaction, the list of attendees by agency, and provide all records related to each meeting to include all transcripts, memoranda, and other communications regarding the transaction.
2. When did the Obama Administration initiate its criminal investigation into senior managers of Tenex, Tenam, and Rosatom? What agencies were involved in the investigation?
3. In addition to Rosatom, Tenex, and Tenam, were additional Russian government owned entities implicated in this or any additional investigations? If so, which ones?
4. Did DOJ personnel inform the CFIUS agencies of the criminal and intelligence investigation into senior managers of Tenex, Tenam, and Rosatom? If so, when? If not, why not?
5. Were your agency’s personnel assigned to the CFIUS transaction made aware of the ongoing criminal and intelligence investigation into senior managers of Tenex, Tenam, and Rosatom prior to CFIUS approval of the Uranium One transaction in October 2010? If so, please detail when they were made aware and what exactly they were made aware of. In addition, please provide all records relating to those communications. If not, why not?
6. Please provide a copy of all records related to the presentation provided by Uranium One/Rosatom to CFIUS staffers prior to filing a formal notice on August 4, 2010.
7. Please provide a copy of you agency’s official confirmation to Treasury that the transaction did not raise any unresolved national security concerns.
There really was a Russian Conspiracy.
But it didn’t involve President Trump.
It involves Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation and the Obama Administration. It’s the Democrats who colluded with Russia.
Exactly as I’ve said all along.
Nothing is certain in the Cesspool that’s Washington, but it feels like this story may have legs.
With more to come…
