The Inspector General’s Report

June 14, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

Here is the Inspector General’s long-awaited Report:

New: DOJ OIG releases A Review of Various Actions by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Department of Justice in Advance of the 2016 Election

The Report is divided into sixteen Chapters and is 568 pages long.

There are no redactions I’ve seen so far but there are two completely redacted (actually blank) Appendixes.

Appendix I is listed as Classified.

Appendix II is listed as Law Enforcement Sensitive.

The Executive Summary & Conclusions are disheartening.

However, at first blush, the body of the Report is a different matter.

I would encourage a withholding of judgement for the time being. We are at the beginning stages.

There will also be an additional IG Report on FISA Abuse.

For the time being:

My advice on the IG Report.

Ignore the Executive Summary & Recommendations and read the body.

So far, this is a Tale of Two Reports.

I will be off working.
