What Do We Know About George Papadopoulos

June 5, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

There’s been a lot of speculation about the role of George Papadopoulos. Especially in light of new information covered yesterday.

Initially, I was convinced that Papadopoulos was a nothing more than a pawn in a much larger game. But as new information and a continuation of ever-increasing coincidences came forth, I began to reassess that position.Continue Reading

Bongino’s Papadopoulos Interview – With Transcript

November 5, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

George Papadopoulos gave an in-depth, hour-long interview on the Dan Bongino Show.

It’s highly worth your time. Given the length and sheer number of details, it may be even more significant in readable form. A transcript has been painstakingly compiled below.

Papadopoulos is quoted directly and in full throughout the interview. Bongino’s questions and comments have been summarized – although they remain direct quotes. This format gives proper context to the discussion while keeping the focus fully on Papadopoulos.Continue Reading

Questions for George Papadopoulos

November 7, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

George Papadopoulos formally joined then-candidate Donald Trump’s presidential campaign on March 21, 2016, as a foreign policy adviser specializing in the Middle East and Israel. He would later become a central figure in the Trump–Russia collusion narrative.

Papadopoulos was targeted by a number of individuals beginning in March 2016—and perhaps earlier. British and Australian officials were involved, as were U.S. intelligence agencies. Many of the targeting attempts seem to have been efforts to establish evidence of collusion with Russia. They appear to have all failed.Continue Reading

The Strange Flight of George Papadopoulos

June 4, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

An older post of mine from December 15, 2017, The Inspector General’s Implied Oversight has been receiving some attention recently.

Several different points were made in the piece but three primary ones are as follows:

  1. IG Horowitz’s discovery of Page/Strzok texts happened on or before July 14, 2017.
  2. Horowitz formally began a new line of investigative pursuit on July 14, 2017.
  3. Horowitz informed Mueller that he was looking into his team on July 27, 2017.

Glenn Simpson’s Fusion GPS Editorial Failure

January 3, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

On December 30, 2017, the New York Times ran a story claiming that drunken remarks made by George Papdopoulos  – NOT the Trump Dossier – led to the opening of the FBI Investigation into Russia-Trump.

Their story was widely criticized.

Andrew McCarthy wrote a strongly worded article that tore into the NYT’s narrative. The folks at theconservativetreehouse put together an excellent Twitter thread that was sent directly to NYT’s Maggie Haberman, exposing the many flaws inherent in the article. I wrote about flaws in the article as well.

Yesterday, the Times decided to double-down on their claims, this time running an Op-Ed, The Republican’s Fake Investigation, by Glenn Simpson and Peter Fritsch – the founders of Fusion GPS.Continue Reading

Transcripts of Lisa Page’s Closed-Door Testimonies Provide New Revelations in Spygate Scandal

January 11, 2019 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

Transcripts of two closed-door testimonies by Lisa Page, the former assistant general counsel at the FBI, have provided new insights into the actions of the FBI, DOJ, and others—including CIA Director John Brennan—regarding their investigation into Donald Trump.

Included in the transcripts provided to us is information suggesting Brennan was aware of the so-called Steele dossier in early August 2016, and that he included information regarding the dossier in a briefing given to then-Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.).

Other key points in Page’s testimony before Congress:Continue Reading

Iran, Papadopoulos & Deceptions From the New York Times

December 31, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

A tweet with a picture of the late edition New York Times cover caught my eye for two reasons. The lead story the Times was pushing…and the important story the Times was ignoring.Continue Reading
