A 2016 State Department email obtained by Just the News confirms that the U.S. government was provided information by a Ukrainian source saying that Burisma—the Ukrainian energy firm that gave Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden a lucrative position on its board—allegedly paid a $7 million bribe to the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office.

The author of the newly released email, State Department official George Kent, testified at then-President Donald Trump’s 2020 impeachment trial, but never mentioned or disclosed the explosive information from his November 2016 email.

The email, which was alluded to in a Sept. 18, 2020, Senate Homeland Security report, but hadn’t been publicly released until earlier this month, states that Kent, who was the deputy chief of mission in Kyiv, Ukraine, at the time, had been told by Ukraine’s deputy prosecutor general that Burisma had paid a $7 million bribe to end a 2014 corruption investigation into the company.Continue Reading

A Feb. 11 filing from special counsel John Durham raised major national security concerns over access to White House internet traffic.

The filing, which was submitted in connection with the indictment of Michael Sussmann, a former attorney to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, reveals that Rodney Joffe, a tech executive who was working with Sussmann, had exploited access to domain name system (DNS) internet traffic pertaining to the Executive Office of the President of the United States (EOP) as well as Trump Tower and Donald Trump’s Central Park West apartment building.

The filing also discloses that Joffe, a private individual who has been implicated in mail order scams in the past, had access to the White House’s DNS internet traffic since at least 2014.Continue Reading

Durham Filing Rebuts Inspector General Horowitz’s Claims on Missing Cellphones, Hints at Growing Rift

A supplemental court filing by special counsel John Durham confirms previous reporting that Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General Michael Horowitz concealed crucial information from Durham in connection with two separate investigations—the ongoing prosecution of former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann and the criminal leak investigation of former FBI general counsel James Baker.

The Jan. 28 filing by Durham updated the court on precisely when Durham first learned of two cellphones that had been used by Baker while he was with the FBI. The existence of these phones was first mentioned in a Jan. 25 filing, in which Durham claimed that the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) had failed to disclose its possession of two FBI cellphones belonging to Baker.

Following the Jan. 25 filing, Horowitz’s office apparently told Durham that the existence of one of the cellphones may have been mentioned on a conference call that took place four years ago.Continue Reading

The Jan. 25 filing also reveals that Horowitz failed to disclose that his office is in possession of two cellphones used by former FBI General Counsel James Baker. The phones may contain information that’s important to the Sussmann case, as well as to a separate criminal leak investigation of Baker that Durham personally conducted between 2017 and 2019.

Horowitz first came to public prominence in June 2018 when he issued a report on the FBI’s actions leading up to the 2016 presidential election. Horowitz followed up in December 2019 with another report on the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation and the bureau’s pursuit of a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant on Trump campaign aide Carter Page.Continue Reading

New Emails Reveal Fauci’s Role in Shaping Highly Influential Paper That Established COVID ‘Natural Origin’ Narrative

New evidence has emerged that suggests that Dr. Anthony Fauci not only initiated efforts to cover up evidence pointing to a lab origin of SARS-CoV-2 but actively shaped a highly influential academic paper that excluded the possibility of a laboratory leak.

Fauci’s involvement with the paper wasn’t acknowledged by the authors as it should have been under prevailing academic standards. Neither was it acknowledged by Fauci himself, who denied having communicated with the authors when asked directly while testifying before Congress earlier this month.

The article “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2” was co-authored by five virologists, four of whom participated in a Feb. 1, 2020, teleconference that was hastily convened by Fauci, who serves as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and Jeremy Farrar, who heads the UK-based Wellcome Trust, after public reporting of a potential link between the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China and the COVID-19 outbreak.Continue Reading

Scientists Who Were Instrumental to COVID-19 ‘Natural Origin’ Narrative Received Over $50 Million in NIAID Funding in 2020–21

Four prominent scientists who played key roles in shaping the public narrative about the origins of COVID-19 received substantial increases in grant money from the institute headed by Dr. Anthony Fauci in the subsequent two years, a review of funding data by The Epoch Times has found.

Three of these scientists—Kristian Andersen, Robert Garry, and Michael Farzan—were advisers to a teleconference organized by Fauci held on Feb. 1, 2020, in response to increasing public questions about the origins of the virus.

The scientists also were instrumental in the publication of “The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2,” a highly influential paper that promoted a natural origin theory for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, and has been frequently cited by the government and media.Continue Reading

Fauci Was Told Privately by Key Scientists That COVID-19 Natural Origin Was ‘Highly Unlikely,’ Newly Unredacted Emails Confirm

Top U.S. health officials, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, scrambled in early 2020 to respond to public reporting of a potential connection between COVID-19 and the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China.

This response, which included a secret Feb. 1, 2020, teleconference, was loosely detailed in previously released and heavily redacted emails. Those emails strongly suggested that Fauci and a small group of top scientists sought to promote the natural origin theory, despite having evidence and internal expert opinions that pointed to the possibility of a leak from the Wuhan lab.

Unredacted versions of some of the emails made public by lawmakers on Jan. 11 further confirm this.Continue Reading

What Is Political Correctness?

What is political correctness?

It’s a simple question with complicated answers.

Long before political correctness entered the public lexicon, George Orwell noted that in a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. Or as Voltaire wisely put it, “To learn who rules over you, find out whom you are not allowed to criticize.”

More recently, conservative political theorist Angelo Codevilla noted that “The point of Political Correctness is not and has never been merely about any of the items that it imposes, but about the imposition itself.”Continue Reading

New Emails Reveal Evidence of Government Efforts to Suppress Free Speech

A previously unseen October 2020 email from Dr. Francis Collins, the outgoing head of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), to colleague Dr. Anthony Fauci is raising concerns about government-sponsored suppression of free speech—a direct violation of the First Amendment.

The email, which appears in a footnote of a Dec. 17 year-end staff report from House Democrats, shows the behind-the-scenes efforts from Collins and Fauci, who were pushing for a fresh round of lockdowns, to discredit the Great Barrington Declaration and disparage its authors.

The Great Barrington Declaration was an October 2020 letter that ran counter to the efforts of Collins and Fauci by declaring a unified opposition to broad-based lockdowns and choosing to instead focus on the protection of vulnerable groups.Continue Reading
