On Dec. 9, Taiwan announced that a researcher working in a biosafety level-3 (BSL-3) laboratory in Taipei tested positive for the Delta variant of COVID-19 “while experimenting on the virus in the lab.”

Chen Shih-chung, the head of Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) confirmed that the female researcher had tested positive for COVID-19 after being “exposed to the pathogen” during research that was conducted in mid-November at the Academia Sinica’s Genomics Research Center in Taipei.

Notably, Taiwan hasn’t experienced any recent cases of COVID-19, a fact noted by Chen, who said, “We believe the possibility of infection from the workplace is higher because we have zero confirmed infections in the community.”Continue Reading

New emails, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by the public interest group U.S. Right to Know, reveal that James Le Duc, director of the Galveston National Laboratory in Texas, had strong suspicions about the role of the Wuhan Institute in sparking the COVID-19 pandemic. Igor Danchenko, the primary source for Christopher Steele’s dossier, has been indicted on a five-count charge of making false statements to the FBI in the Eastern District of Virginia. The indictment and arrest of Danchenko was confirmed in a statement issued by the office of special counsel John Durham, who noted that his “investigation is ongoing.”

Danchenko is the third person to be charged as part of Durham’s ongoing probe into the origins of the FBI’s investigation into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. Former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith pleaded guilty to doctoring a document in relation to the FBI obtaining a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) surveillance warrant against Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. Former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann pleaded not guilty last month to a charge of lying to the FBI while allegedly attempting to induce the FBI to investigate a false Russia conspiracy theory.Continue Reading

Last week, EcoHealth Alliance’s Peter Daszak responded to a demand from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for “any and all unpublished data” from its experiments at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Daszak’s letter not only failed to provide NIH with the required information, it also revealed that crucial virus data from EcoHealth’s experiments with the Wuhan Institute (WIV) are actively being censored by Chinese Communist Party authorities.

Additionally, Daszak revealed that EcoHealth and the lab continued to jointly conduct gain-of-function experiments into April 2020 and EcoHealth’s experiments may have continued beyond that point. The letter also disclosed the existence of additional EcoHealth progress reports on its activities in Wuhan that covered the critical periods directly before and immediately after the start of the pandemic. After nearly two years of denials, Dr. Anthony Fauci’s parent organization, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has finally conceded that it funded gain-of-function experiments at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

As these admissions were made, NIH officials told Congress that the viruses being experimented on were too genetically distant to have possibly caused COVID-19.

But the NIH failed to tell Congress that Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance, the organization through which Fauci was funding the Wuhan Institute, has kept a large number of unknown viruses in its possession. A sequence of events in early 2020 suggest that Dr. Anthony Fauci and a small group of scientists sought to promote the natural origins theory as a means to avoid public scrutiny of the possibility that COVID-19 had leaked from a lab.

Fauci received several warnings in late Jan. 2020 that prompted him to hold a private teleconference on Feb. 1, 2020. Emails from participants show that during this teleconference, the two main presenters made clear to the teleconference group that they believed it was a real possibility that COVID-19 originated from a lab.

These same presenters were simultaneously completing an article, later known as Proximal Origin, which publicly promoted the Natural Origins theory and dismissed any lab leak theories. New documents detail how Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance and China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology were planning to use gain-of-function experiments to artificially insert “human-specific cleavage sites” into coronaviruses in order to increase their ability to infect human cells.

The newly released documents, which are part of a funding proposal submitted to the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) program in 2018, detail a blueprint for the creation of a COVID-19-like virus. The ostensible goal of the research was to get ahead of nature by predicting whether viruses might evolve over time to acquire those enhanced traits.

When COVID-19 first emerged, some scientists were puzzled that the virus had a human-specific adaptation at the cleavage site. A study in the science journal Nature noted that the COVID-19 virus “exhibited the highest binding to human (h)ACE2 of all the species tested.”Continue Reading

Former Perkins Coie partner and Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann was arraigned on Sept. 17 on a single-count charge of lying to the FBI. The charge stems from special counsel John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the Russia probe that plagued the presidency of Donald Trump.

The indictment of Sussmann, a cybersecurity specialist, alleges that a group of individuals worked with him to devise allegations regarding a secret communications channel between the Trump Organization and Russia’s Alfa Bank. The prosecutors take pains to note that Sussmann assisted in the drafting and dissemination of materials that were provided to the FBI and media.
