A federal judge ruled in favor of BuzzFeed on Dec. 19 after the news website was sued for defamation following its publication of the so-called Steele dossier on Jan. 10, 2017.
Contained within this ruling were a significant number of details related to the dossier and its dissemination, including some previously unknown information relating to activities on the part of David Kramer, a longtime associate of the late Sen. The Michael Flynn memorandum in aid of sentencing was filed on Dec. 11, following the long-awaited Dec. 5 sentencing memorandum filed by special counsel Robert Mueller.
As previously noted, Mueller recommended no jail time for Flynn, noting his “substantial cooperation and other considerations.”

Key revelations from former FBI director’s testimony
The recent congressional testimony by former FBI Director James Comey has caused no shortage of outrage over his lack of recollection and ongoing deflections.
But lost within that outrage have been a number of important facts that were actually communicated during his testimony.
Comey’s interview was notably not under oath, but he was required by law to answer questions from Congress truthfully, which has suddenly gained material weight after special counsel Robert Mueller prosecuted former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, for lying to Congress.Continue Reading
On Dec. 7, 2018, CNN published an article discussing events in the eight days following the May 9, 2017, firing of former FBI Director James Comey by President Donald Trump. Comey was fired after a recommendation letter written by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, titled Restoring Public Confidence in the FBI, was delivered to the president.
The CNN article was a rehash of two prior articles from the New York Times and the Washington Post that claimed Rosenstein had discussed wiretapping Trump, though CNN did provide increased emphasis on the fact that then-Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe opened an obstruction of justice investigation into Trump in the days following Comey’s firing.
Left out of the CNN article, however, are a number of critical facts, not the least of which is that much of what was being described came from memos written by McCabe, who is now the focus of a grand jury investigation.Continue Reading
