President Trump’s Courageous Speech – Hard Truths at the UN

September 19, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

“There can be no substitute for strong, sovereign, and independent nations, nations that are rooted in the histories and invested in their destiny, nations that seek allies to befriend, not enemies to conquer, and most important of all, nations that are home to patriots.” – President Donald J. Trump

“Wherever true socialism or communism has been adopted, it has delivered anguish and devastation and failure.” – President Donald J. Trump

President Trump addressed the United Nations General Assembly for the first time today.

President Trump was clear, direct and forthright.

Sovereignty was the underlying and continuing theme.

It was a speech the UN members needed to hear – containing truths that needed to be told.

It might have been President Trump’s best speech to date.Continue Reading

A Speech in Berkeley – Ben Shapiro, Facists & Some Hard Truths

September 16, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

An Alt-Right White Supremacist came to Berkeley seeking chaos and upheaval.

At least according to Leftists – and U.C. Berkeley’s Administration.

In other words, Ben Shapiro, a conservative, came to Berkeley to deliver a speech.

Berkeley’s Executive Vice-Chancellor and Provost, Paul Alivisatos, was so concerned he felt compelled to send out a letter several days prior to Shapiro’s speech. He offered counseling services for those affected:Continue Reading

The Imran Awan Case – House Dems, A Secret Server & So Much More

September 13, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

It’s been a while since I wrote about the strange case of the Awan Brothers – the fugitive IT specialists for House Democrats – so I figured it might be time for an update. For those in need of some background, here is the earlier article.

Imran Awan was arrested July 24, 2017 at an airport as he was attempting to flee the country. He was flying to Pakistan by way of Qatar – following his wife who had fled the country in March with $12,000 in cash. He has been charged with four counts of bank fraud in connection with his wire transfer of nearly $300,000 to Pakistan. Imran and his brothers, Abid and Jamal, are under investigation by the FBI and U.S. Capitol Police for accessing congressional computers and stealing IT equipment.

The Awan brothers provided services to as many as 80 House Democrats over the years and had access to the electronic files and emails of  House Intelligence and Foreign Affairs Committee members. They provided their services on time-divided basis among the various Democratic Representatives.Continue Reading

Trump, MSM Denial & An Impressive Poll of Conservative Seniors

September 12, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

A Survey Monkey Poll of 65,000 senior citizens was published on September 8, 2017. The survey was done for the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC).

AMAC is a conservative alternative to AARP – and has over 1 million active members:

AMAC is focused squarely on protecting the interests of America’s seniors. We offer an alternative perspective on how to best solve the problems faced by seniors today, and we’re on your side when it comes to fighting runaway taxes, excessive government involvement in our day-to-day lives, and the erosion of accountability at all levels of government.

We offer a variety of consumer benefits for our members including travel discounts, competitively priced insurance products, Roadside Assistance, retail and restaurant discounts, and a host of other benefits and savings opportunities in between.Continue Reading

A Deal with Dems & A Welcome Blow to RINO’s

September 8, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

Many Republican voters, true conservatives at heart, have become utterly disenchanted with the GOP and its leadership.

Tired of RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) and NeoCons (Liberal Republicans who favor intervention in other countries) and all their ilk.

Tired of “leaders” like Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.

Tired of Fredocons.

“Fredo, I knew it was you”.

Tired.

So is President Trump.

What good is having a Republican majority in the House and Senate if you don’t use it?Continue Reading

Death of DACA – Rule of Law, Midterm Elections & the RAISE Act

September 5, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

“In ordering this blanket exception, President Obama was nullifying part of a law that he simply disagreed with.….If a president can claim sweeping discretion to suspend key federal laws, the entire legislative process becomes little more than a pretense…The circumvention of the legislative process not only undermines the authority of this branch but destabilizes the tripartite system as a whole.” – George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley

“The executive branch, through DACA, deliberately sought to achieve what the legislative branch specifically refused to authorize on multiple occasions. Such an open-ended circumvention of immigration laws was an unconstitutional exercise of authority by the Executive Branch.” – Attorney General Jeff Sessions

Attorney General Jeff Sessions formally announced the decision to rescind Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA on September 5, 2017:Continue Reading

A Climate Change Echo Chamber

September 2, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

My past two posts have revolved around Climate Change – and those who promote it through misleading representations.

In Oreskes’ Exxon Study, CAI & Five Years of Coordinated Climate Deception, I show how the Climate Accountability Institute and the Union of Concerned Scientists came up with a long-term plan in 2012, to go after Exxon for carbon emissions – using tactics learned from Tobacco Litigation.

The  official report from that 2012 meeting, Establishing Accountability for Climate Change Damages: Lessons from Tobacco Control, makes for very interesting reading and contains a surprising amount of quotes from the original workshop.

It serves as a generalized transcript.

In the process of compiling my article I went through twitter accounts from various climate activists.

What I found was a well-orchestrated – and intertwined – Echo Chamber.Continue Reading

Politicizing Harvey – A Hurricane Portrayed as Climate Change

August 29, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

Hurricane Harvey brought devastating rain and floods to Texas.

It also brought the same repeated claims of Climate Change that seem to accompany every major hurricane.

Now is the time to say it as loudly as possible: Harvey is what climate change looks like. https://t.co/MTvWJ6LRLd

Oreskes’ Exxon Study, CAI & Five Years of Coordinated Climate Deception

August 27, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

We redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy – Ottmar Edenhofer, then co-chairman of Working Group III of the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

Naomi Oreskes recently completed a study, Assessing ExxonMobil’s Climate Change Communications. The study concludes with the following statement:

Available documents show a discrepancy between what ExxonMobil’s scientists and executives discussed about climate change privately and in academic circles and what it presented to the general public.

Several recent articles appeared in the LA Times, the Washington Post and the New York Times regarding the study and its conclusions.

I recognized Oreskes name so with some prodding, I decided to take a closer look.Continue Reading
