The UK and Australia Have Reason to be Concerned About Declassification
Foreign intel agencies played crucial role in creation of Russia-collusion narrative
President Donald Trump last week received phone calls from two allies saying, “please, can we talk.” Those “allies” were almost certainly the UK and Australia.
The high-level calls were most likely coordinated and related entirely to President Trump’s recent declassification order.
The message appears to have been simple and direct. As President Trump noted, “key Allies called to ask not to release.”
These calls should be receiving far more attention than they have.Continue Reading
Stefan Halper’s Role in Crossfire Hurricane More Significant than Previously known
Halper’s information on Flynn, later described by an FBI agent as “not accurate,” likely initiated FBI probe
Newly released FBI documents shed light on two meetings between FBI Agent Stephen Somma and FBI source Stefan Halper, providing further insight into the wide scope of the FBI’s investigation into the Trump 2016 presidential campaign—and the active role played by Halper, who acted as a confidential human source (CHS) for the FBI.
Although Halper was not considered an official CHS for the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation prior to these meetings, Somma had known Halper since 2011, according to the Department of Justice Inspector General’s report on FISA Abuse. Additionally, Somma had served as Halper’s handler from “2011 through 2016” as part of Somma’s “regular investigative activities.”Continue Reading
Avoid the Nuclear Option
President Trump will put forth a Supreme Court nominee for confirmation by the Senate as soon as next week. The process will likely prove lively. The future of the Supreme Court was the overarching issue I remained focused on throughout the election (See: Supreme Issues). This institution shapes our national character more than any other – and its presence is felt far past any president’s time in office. I am greatly heartened by President Trump’s list of potential nominees. But we need to navigate the nomination process first. And nuclear issues lurk.
Here is an abbreviated exchange between Fox News’ Chris Wallace and Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell:
“As Senate rules now stand, because the nuclear option was extended by the Democrats, you can confirm lower court judges with just 51 votes. If the Democrats block a Supreme Court nominee, are you going to extend the nuclear option to Supreme Court nominees?” – Chris Wallace
“Well, let me just say, I’m confident we’ll get a Supreme Court nominee confirmed. I expect an outstanding nominee sometime soon. We think our nominee ought to be treated the same way (no filibuster). If he is not treated that way, then, under the current Senate rule, we would have to get cloture. That is, we’d have to get 60 votes.” – Mitch McConnell
“But would you consider extending the nuclear option for Supreme Court justices, just a simple majority?” – Chris Wallace
“The nominee will be confirmed,” – Mitch McConnellContinue Reading

A Letter from Devin – Unmasking the Leakers
Devin Nunes, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has sent a letter to Daniel Coates, the Director of National Intelligence regarding the issue of unmasking and intelligence leaking.
We have found evidence that current and former government officials had easy access to U.S. person information and that it is possible that they used this information to achieve partisan political purposes, including the selective, anonymous leaking of such information.
The committee has learned that one official, whose position had no apparent intelligence related function, made hundreds of unmasking requests during the final year of the Obama administration. Of those requests, only one offered a justification that was not boilerplate and articulated why that specific official required the U.S. person information for the performance of his or her official duties.
That unnamed individual is almost certainly former UN Ambassador Samantha Power.Continue Reading
A Compilation of DNC Media Collusion & Complicity
We identified numerous FBI employees, at all levels of the organization and with no official reason to be in contact with the media, who were nevertheless in frequent contact with reporters. We identified instances where FBI employees improperly received benefits from reporters, including tickets to sporting events, golfing outings, drinks and meals, and admittance to nonpublic social events. We have profound concerns about the volume and extent of unauthorized media contacts by FBI personnel that we have uncovered during our review. – Inspector General Michael HorowitzContinue Reading
