Lindsey Graham’s FISA Revelation

December 30, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

An unlikely source has been at the forefront of discoveries surrounding the DNC’s Russia-Trump Narrative. Senator Lindsey Graham.

Yeah. I know… But it’s true nevertheless.

And Senator Graham just confirmed what many of us have been saying for some time.

The Trump Dossier, created by Fusion GPS, was used by the DOJ/FBI to obtain a FISA Warrant to spy on the Trump Campaign.Continue Reading

A Deadline Letter from Devin

December 29, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

On December 8, 2017, House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes gave an interview to Fox News. He made a number of notable comments:

We have had an ongoing investigation into DOJ [Department of Justice] and FBI since mid-summer for both FISA [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court] abuse and other matters that we can’t get into too much. But it is very concerning.

I believe there’s evidence that abuses have occurred.

I hate to use the word corrupt, but they become so dirty that, who is watching the watchmen? Who is investigating these people? There is no one.

We have no evidence of Russian collusion between the Trump campaign.

On December 28, 2017, Nunes sent a blistering letter to Deputy AG Rosenstein:Continue Reading

Where is Bill Priestap – FBI’s Counter-Intelligence Head

December 28, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

I first came across the name Bill Priestap in early April 2017, as I was going through House Intelligence Committee testimony given by James Comey on March 20, 2017:Continue Reading

Clinton’s Refusals – IG Linick’s Clinton Testimony

December 26, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

Some old video footage from a July 7, 2016 House Oversight Committee recently resurfaced regarding Clinton’s email server. You can find the full transcript here.

Of particular interest were three separate exchanges.

The first exchange between Chairman Jason Chaffetz and State Department Inspector General Steve Linick, a second between Representative Gowdy and Linick, and finally, a third between Representative Grothman and Linick.

As you watch the videos and read the transcripts, recall that the Inspector General Empowerment Act – something current DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz fought long and hard to obtain – had not yet been passed into law.

Had the Inspector General Empowerment Act been law at this point, State Department IG Linick might have been able to produce a very different outcome with ex-Secretary of State Clinton.Continue Reading

An Introduction to Inspector General Michael Horowitz

December 23, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

500 employees. A $100 million budget. 1.2 million documents in the Inspector General’s possession. For delivery to the House Judiciary Committee by January 15, 2018.

I have been discussing the Inspector General’s Investigation for a bit now. See: here, here and here.

But exactly who is the Inspector General.Continue Reading

A Uranium One Primer – Clinton, Giustra & Kazakhstan’s Uranium Assets

December 21, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

It’s being reported that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has ordered DOJ prosecutors to ask FBI agents about evidence they found in the now dormant Uranium One Investigation.

The true Uranium One story was always about Kazakhstan uranium assets.

Here are the basic facts (full details below):

Bill Clinton met Canadian investor Frank Giustra in June 2005, during a fund-raiser at Mr. Giustra’s Vancouver home.

Frank Giustra owned UrAsia, a small – and newly formed – uranium company that was seeking to purchase lucrative uranium reserves in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan has about one-fifth of the world’s uranium reserves.Continue Reading

2017 – A Presidential Closing

December 19, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

A funny thing happened on the way to 2018.

People suddenly began to quietly notice what many of us have been discussing for much of 2017.

President Trump has accomplished quite a bit.Continue Reading

The Strategic Delay of Section 2.3 of Executive Order 12333

December 17, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

On January 3, 2017, Section 2.3 of Executive Order 12333 – Procedures for the Availability or Dissemination of Raw Signals Intelligence Information by the NSA – was signed into effect.

Agencies and individuals can now ask the NSA for access to specific surveillance simply by claiming the intercepts contain relevant information that is useful to a particular mission. No privacy protection of the raw data occurs.

Under the new rules, sharing of information has been made significantly easier – and the information shared is raw and unfiltered.

Like many, I wondered at the timing of the order. What I found particularly curious was that it was so overdue.Continue Reading

The Significance of Rosenstein’s Release

December 16, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein provided testimony to the House Judiciary Committee on December 13, 2017.

I cover Rosenstein’s testimony in an earlier post.

Prior to his testimony, the Department of Justice released about 375 texts sent by FBI Agent Peter Strzok and FBI Lawyer Lisa Page.

More precisely, Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein released them.Continue Reading

The Inspector General’s Implied Oversight

December 15, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

On July 14, 2017, Inspector General Michael Horowitz sent a letter in response to an earlier request from several Democratic Senators regarding the recusal of AG Jeff Sessions.

The Inspector General’s letter contained only three short paragraphs:Continue Reading
