On December 30, 2017, the New York Times ran a story claiming that drunken remarks made by George Papdopoulos – NOT the Trump Dossier – led to the opening of the FBI Investigation into Russia-Trump.
Their story was widely criticized.
Andrew McCarthy wrote a strongly worded article that tore into the NYT’s narrative. The folks at theconservativetreehouse put together an excellent Twitter thread that was sent directly to NYT’s Maggie Haberman, exposing the many flaws inherent in the article.
