An Article Compilation

January 17, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

This post is the result of requests I’ve received from readers to compile articles by category along with a description of each article.

This should prove helpful to those wanting to look into the unfolding FBI/DOJ/Obama Administration scandal surrounding illegal surveillance and collusion.Continue Reading

The Uncovering – Section 702 “About” Queries, Independent Contractors & a New Narrative

January 15, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

As I’ve been traveling for a few days, today will serve as an overview of sorts.

Before we move forward, theconservativetreehouse provides us with a good overview of FISA-702 (16)(17):

  • FISA – Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act
  • 702 – An American caught up in the process of Foreign Surveillance
  • (16) – A search query based on “TO” and/or “FROM”
  • (17) – A search query based on “ABOUT”

FISA searches can be conducted on any foreign person without issue.  All non-U.S. citizens on the entire planet can be searched 24/7/365 no issues.  FISA searches on foreign people have no restrictions at all.

However, when the FISA search returns data identifying a U.S. citizen, everything changes. Those changes are under the identifying term “702”.  A “702” is an American person.Continue Reading

An American Hero & the Death of a FISA Narrative

January 10, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

Admiral Mike Rogers announced his retirement on January 5, 2018, thus bringing an end to a nearly four-year tenure as head of the NSA.

Which is somewhat remarkable given the Obama Administration tried to fire him well over a year ago.

In late 2016, the Washington Post reported what I thought an unusual story – though I lacked the information to grasp the full import at the time:Continue Reading

Some Updates & the Participants

January 9, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

I’ve been working on another more lengthy post, but decided it worthy to pause for a quick update as much is transpiring.

The Daily Caller is reporting that Devin Nunes has received all Department of Justice and FBI documents it possesses on the Trump Dossier. I’ve not yet seen secondary confirmation.

The committee was able to review Friday all FBI and DOJ documents on the Trump dossier, former MI-6 British agent Christopher Steele who authored the dossier, and Fusion GPS, the political opposition firm that hired Steele. DOJ also provided any Obama administration applications to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court based on the dossier, which could approve the surveillance of the Trump transition team or Trump associates, according to a source with direct knowledge of the case.Continue Reading

A Strategic Tightening – The DOJ’s Rewarding Reply to Nunes & a Letter from Grassley

January 5, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

On December 28, 2017, House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes sent a blistering letter to Deputy AG Rosenstein with a deadline response of January 3, 2018.

In the evening of January 3, 2018, Nunes received a reply.

Nunes wants answers to the origin of the FBI investigation that ultimately led to the National Security Division of the DOJ assembling a FISA request to engage in surveillance of the Trump Campaign.

The FBI Counterintelligence Division began an official investigation into the Trump Campaign in mid-to-late July 2016.Continue Reading

18 Questions from Jim Jordan

January 4, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

Representative Jim Jordan has been one of the few in Congress willing to ask tough questions that many of us want answers to.

He has done so during Congressional Committee Sessions – requiring the questions and answers to become part of Congressional record.

Now he is asking those same questions in a more public forum.Continue Reading

Glenn Simpson’s Fusion GPS Editorial Failure

January 3, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

On December 30, 2017, the New York Times ran a story claiming that drunken remarks made by George Papdopoulos  – NOT the Trump Dossier – led to the opening of the FBI Investigation into Russia-Trump.

Their story was widely criticized.

Andrew McCarthy wrote a strongly worded article that tore into the NYT’s narrative. The folks at theconservativetreehouse put together an excellent Twitter thread that was sent directly to NYT’s Maggie Haberman, exposing the many flaws inherent in the article. I wrote about flaws in the article as well.

Yesterday, the Times decided to double-down on their claims, this time running an Op-Ed, The Republican’s Fake Investigation, by Glenn Simpson and Peter Fritsch – the founders of Fusion GPS.Continue Reading

Iran, Papadopoulos & Deceptions From the New York Times

December 31, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

A tweet with a picture of the late edition New York Times cover caught my eye for two reasons. The lead story the Times was pushing…and the important story the Times was ignoring.Continue Reading

Lindsey Graham’s FISA Revelation

December 30, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

An unlikely source has been at the forefront of discoveries surrounding the DNC’s Russia-Trump Narrative. Senator Lindsey Graham.

Yeah. I know… But it’s true nevertheless.

And Senator Graham just confirmed what many of us have been saying for some time.

The Trump Dossier, created by Fusion GPS, was used by the DOJ/FBI to obtain a FISA Warrant to spy on the Trump Campaign.Continue Reading

A Deadline Letter from Devin

December 29, 2017 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

On December 8, 2017, House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes gave an interview to Fox News. He made a number of notable comments:

We have had an ongoing investigation into DOJ [Department of Justice] and FBI since mid-summer for both FISA [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court] abuse and other matters that we can’t get into too much. But it is very concerning.

I believe there’s evidence that abuses have occurred.

I hate to use the word corrupt, but they become so dirty that, who is watching the watchmen? Who is investigating these people? There is no one.

We have no evidence of Russian collusion between the Trump campaign.

On December 28, 2017, Nunes sent a blistering letter to Deputy AG Rosenstein:Continue Reading
